How do you verify visitor identity at the gate without slowing things down?

Our security guards manually write visitor details in a register, which is slow during peak hours (evening deliveries, guests arriving together, etc.) and honestly half the entries are barely legible. Does the AMS visitor log actually speed this up in practice, or is it just a digital version of the same manual process?

It genuinely speeds things up once residents get used to pre-approving expected visitors from their app — the guard just confirms the name against an approval that's already sitting there instead of writing anything by hand. For walk-in/unexpected visitors, the guard still logs name + phone + flat number, but it's a quick form on a tablet, not handwriting a register. Deliveries especially got faster since most residents pre-approve regular delivery services.
